Privacy Policy

Last updated October 20, 2026

This policy explains what personal data Tigran Chess School collects, why, and what rights you have. The short version is that we collect very little. Reading the site requires no account, sets no tracking cookie and runs no analytics.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is APPRENDRE EN 24 HEURES, SAS, 13 rue des Hirondelles, 62710 Courrières, France, the publisher described in the Legal Notice. You can reach us at contact@tigran-chess-school.com.

Server logs

Like any website, ours runs on a server, provided by our host o2switch in France. Each time a page is requested, the server records technical information in its logs, namely your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser type and the referring page.

  • Purpose: keeping the site secure and working properly.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Retention: a limited period set by the host, after which the logs are deleted.

The free guide and our emails

If you request the free guide, we collect your email address together with the date and proof of your consent. Your email is used to send you the guide and then our emails about chess lessons and the school, as stated next to the consent box.

  • Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • Double opt-in: you receive the guide and our emails only after confirming your address through the link in our first email.
  • Unsubscribing: every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing also withdraws your consent.
  • Retention: until you unsubscribe. Your data is then deleted or anonymized, and in any case no later than 3 years after your last active contact with us.

Our email service provider is Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, 55 rue d'Amsterdam, 75008 Paris, France), which processes this data on our behalf and stores it in the European Union. When you submit the form, your browser sends your details directly to Brevo.

Waitlists for upcoming resources

Some resources mentioned on the site are not ready yet, such as the14-day program. If you join the waitlist for one of them, we collect your email address, the resource you are waiting for, and the date and proof of your consent.

  • Purpose: emailing you once, when that resource becomes available.
  • Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • Double opt-in: you are added to the waitlist only after confirming your address through the link in our first email.
  • Retention: until the resource is sent to you. Your address is then deleted from the waitlist, unless you have also signed up for the free guide, in which case the rules above apply. If the resource is never released, the waitlist is deleted no later than two years after you joined.
  • Unsubscribing: every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.

The waitlist is also handled by Brevo, under the same conditions as described above.

Statistics on our emails

Our emails contain a small tracking image and tracked links, provided by Brevo. They tell us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, so we can see which emails are actually read and improve them. This information is tied to your email address.

  • Legal basis: the consent you gave when signing up (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • Retention: as long as you stay subscribed. Unsubscribing stops this measurement. You can also block it by turning off automatic image loading in your email program.

Cookies and browser storage

The site uses no analytics or advertising cookies, no audience measurement tool and no embedded social media. Fonts are served from our own server, so no third-party service is contacted while you read.

The site sets no cookies at all. It saves two small technical preferences in your browser's local storage (localStorage). They stay on your device and are never sent to us or to anyone else.

  • gcs-theme remembers whether you chose the light or the dark theme. It is saved only when you click the theme button.
  • gcs-popup-state stores the date until which the free guide pop-up stays hidden, once you have closed it or followed its link.

You can delete both at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@tigran-chess-school.com.

If you believe your data is not being handled properly, you can file a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or with the data protection authority of the country where you live.

Changes to this policy

If the way we handle your data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
